The Coldstones Cut Visitor Attraction
Stimulate your senses and explore your wilder self at the largest and highest public artwork in Yorkshire. A massive construction which visitors can freely walk through and explore. The sculpture overlooks the huge working Coldstones Quarry near to Pateley Bridge and offers spectacular views of the stunning scenery of Nidderdale, in the Yorkshire Dales.

Hackfall Wood - a Woodland Trust Wood
There is something about the wild splendour of Hackfall Woods that simply inspires creativity. Nineteenth writers hailed it as one of the most beautiful woodlands in the country while romantic landscape artist Turner painted in the woods. Set in a 350ft gorge on the edge of Grewelthorpe, the site was bought in 1731 by John Aislabie, famous for his landscaping work at nearby Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal.

A great experience whatever the time of year - when visiting the stunning Spa town of Harrogate, make time to visit the wonderful Turkish Baths where you will emerge a new person - feeling refreshed and energised and completely chilled out!

Theakstons Brewery in Masham
Yes! Another great brewery can be found in Masham, known for their legendary Masham Ale Old Peculiar. Why not spend sometime at the Theakston Visitor Centre or visit the White Bear Hotel, located just off the market place where you can sample some great Yorkshire hospitality!

National Trust - Brimham Rocks
This fabulous area owned by the National Trust and located within Nidderdale, near to Summerbridge on the way towards Harrogate, here you will find dramatic moorland rock formations with excellent views for 40 miles over unspoilt countryside. There is also 400 acres of woods and moorland to explore with rock climbing for the more experienced. This fascinating moorland is filled with strange and fantastic rock formations and is rich in wildlife.

Great local food from North Yorkshire
This is where you will find the very best of local foods, produce and ingredients - mouth watering and a bountiful array of produce that will give you a very special taste of what North Yorkshire has to offer.

Wensleydale Creamery
Situated in the market town of Hawes in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park you will find the Wensleydale Creamery - home to Wallace and Gromits favourite cheese - a nice bit of Wensleydale! The Wensleydale Dairy is based here in Kirkby Malzeard where the milk is taken by tanker upto Hawes for the cheese making process to commence - enjoy!

RHS Harlow Carr Gardens Harrogate
The most northern garden of the RHS portfolio, Harlow Carr Garden in Harrogate, North Yorkshire is dominated by water, stone and woodland and is very much part of the surrounding Yorkshire Landscape. What better way to while away a few hours and then afterwards call in next door at Bettys Tea Rooms for afternoon tea!

National Trust - Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal
Yorkshire's first World Heritage Site and is a huge estate of beauty, contrasts and surprises including the largest abbey ruins in the country and one of Englands' most spectacular Georgian water gardens.

Rack and Ruin - Unique Wine Racks
Richard Greaves and Lesley Wood who reside in Kirkby Malzeard, lovingly create, bespoke handmade wine racks using reclaimed wood. They make fantastic presents and look terrific in any home.

Walking Book Series
A superb selection of walking books written by Mark Reid. 'The Guide to Black Sheep Pubs’ is available for your use during your stay with us and features circular walks around the Yorkshire Dales where you can enjoy a good pint of Black Sheep and a bite to eat!

The Black Sheep Brewery Centre, Masham. Yes, Tim’s favourite tipple and just five miles from Ashknott Cottage! Take a tour and visit their excellent Bistro for lunch or dinner. Outside beer garden is also dog friendly - Cheers!

Grantley Arms Pub in Grantley
Excellent pub serving fresh, local food just three miles from Ashknott Cottage in the village of Grantley, a favourite spot of ours!

Local Walks within Nidderdale
A selection of fantastic local walks, which can be downloaded from this informative Nidderdale website - an area of outstanding natural beauty, where Ashknott Cottage is situated within. Check out the 'Crackpots Walk' which starts near to Kirkby Malzeard and the 'Henry Jenkins Pub Walk' that starts from within the village.
